About Tina Pommer
Tina grew up in Bad Homburg near the City of Frankfurt in Germany. For as far back as she can remember, Tina has had a particular affinity with all animals especially dogs. In fact much to her mother’s dismay Tina’s first word was not MaMa or DaDa but Goldi (the name of her family’s pet dachshund). Growing up Tina was constantly accompanied by a canine companion and from an early age it became evident that she had a natural ability to communicate with and train almost any dog. Not only that, Tina also has a warm friendly personality and an engaging, relaxed manner with people which combine to make her an excellent dog training instructor.
In Germany Tina trained as a pharmacists assistant where she specialised in the preparation of herbs in medicine, a skill that complemented one of her main interests, local flora and fauna in a medical, culinary and archaeological context. Over the years she has become something of a practical expert in this field.
Tina came to Co Leitrim, Ireland over 20 years ago and was drawn to the outstanding beauty of the Irish countryside. Tina soon became involved in nature and outdoor pursuits and she continued to study part time educating herself in the subjects of archaeology and foraging. Tina's interests are very wide ranging, she spent a decade training and performing as a dancer and nearly 2 decades now practising and teaching Taichi. She is also a published writer, poet and her drawings were chosen to illustrate a calendar.
In 2002 Tina achieved a Diploma in one of her favourite subjects Irish Archaeology. She has completed numerous courses in walking leadership and map reading with Leitrim Development Company and is currently training further as a walking group leader.

Tina regularly combines her walking, foraging and dog training skills by bringing small groups of people and their dogs on beautiful walks through the hills and forests of county Leitrim and neighbouring county Sligo. Not only is this a most enjoyable and educational experience for the humans but it is also a fantastic opportunity for dogs to socialise and have fun together in a safe and friendly natural environment.
Tina lives in Manorhamilton Co Leitrim with her husband Seamus and two very loyal and obdiedent dogs Poppy a “senior” female border collie and a young male German Shepard called Spooky.
